This is Our Town Crawley and Gatwick sat down with mum of 1 and BusyLizzy owner Katie Hamnett to learn what inspired her to bring this unique, fun and flexible service to her home town.

We asked Katie what inspired her to start a BusyLizzy franchise, “I decided to bring the club to the area as I felt there was a lack of postnatal fitness classes for Mum and baby – Everything seemed to be about our little ones only. I was fed up of paying for termly fees for baby classes when life sometimes gets in the way and you can’t make that 10am class every Tuesday. With BusyLizzy all of our classes are booked and cancelled via our smartphone app. You have up until 2 hours before the class starts to cancel without losing the class credit and you can book on to a class up to 30 mins of it starting so its really flexible. Our main focus is postnatal fitness class, Mummy&Me Yoga, Mummy&Me Pilates, Mummy&Me Aerobics, Mummy&Me buggy fitness and bootcamps”.

Do you bring your little boy to your classes?

“Yes. I bring my son to the toddler classes- I can’t believe how much more he participates after 4 months of attending. Mini Dancers is his favourite”

What is your favourite part of running BusyLizzy?

“My favourite part of running the club is definitely getting the chance to meet such lovely, appreciative and happy mummies, and being able to look after my son as part of my work’

and finally, a lot of your classes start with the title ‘Mummy&……”, are Daddy’s also welcome to join in?

‘Yes of course! I always encourage dads/ partners/ grandparents to attend the baby and toddler classes as much as possible. We even have one dad that brings his son full time!”
